Birthday Time!

Saturday night, we all gathered over at GG's to celebrate Uncle Clark and Aunt Kimberly's birthdays. Cousin Julie also joined the Gibson fam and it was really great getting to hang out with her. We were treated to a terrific meal prepared by Uncle Clint and GG. The creamy, cheesy garlic bread that went along with the stuffed shells and salad was delicious, followed by with some yummy cake and ice cream. After opening gifts and chatting a while, we all headed home.

It's Friday!

Yippee and I am very glad it is! Yesterday, I started feeling kind of bad and hoping that it is just my sinuses that are acting up. Today is better, just enjoying lots of strawberry Halls and drinking plenty of water.

Cohen is going to enjoy a night with his Grandma and Papa, with dinner in mind tonight and a birthday party tomorrow. Of course, Charlie and I are taking advantage of this childless night and possibly go out to dinner with no plans on getting up early tomorrow. Now that is going to be nice.

After taking care of some things around the house and running some errands, we will pick Mr. Co-man up and head of to GG's house to celebrate Uncle Clark and Aunt Kimberly's birthdays. I hear the cooking is being done by Mr. Terrific Chief himself, Uncle Clint, so I am sure we will enjoy our meal. Not that we don't any other time, because whatever GG cooks is always Gr-r-reat.

It is hard to believe that Sunday is February 1st. Although there are some days where they just drag, time is still flying by. I am just very thankful to God to be able to enjoy each day that does come and I am truly blessed with a wonderful and loving hubby and son, not to mention all the family and friends.

I leave you with a picture, irrelevant to this post, but so hilarious I had to share. Love the hair!

Our Sister

We want to wish Aunt Kimberly a very Happy Birthday! It was exciting to officially make her an addition to the Gibson Family and to be blessed with a sister ("Thanks Uncle Clint"). Libby a.k.a. GG needed some more females and now, it is up to Kimberly and I to hopefully add another one someday. And of course, can't forget about Clark adding a female one day, when he decides to settle down.

It has been such a joy to get to know her. She has such a sweet smile, always a kind word to say, and a really great sense of style.

She is wonderful Sister and terrific Aunt. We look forward to making many memories with her and Uncle Clint!

Happy Birthday and We love you Girl!

Grapes vs. McCheeseburger

I have to admit, like my fellow blogger Lindsay, I love McDonalds double cheeseburgers and probably crave them too much. So on my way to pick up Cohen, I wasnt too far behind a McTruck that had a Big Mac (which I love those too) displayed on it. My mouth started to water at the thought of wanting a cheeseburger and I had myself talked out of it until I called Charlie on our way home. After mentioning it, he said it sounded good to him and we headed to McD's. Now you might ask what does grapes have anything to do with a cheeseburger. Although I know Cohen will only eat half, I decided to pick him up a small cheeseburger. With his half cheeseburger and a few fries, daddy cut up some grapes to go along. Grapes are a must have in the Gibson household and sometimes, the grapes are the first thing to go and he will not finish the other stuff. So of course, he ate his grapes, a bite or two of the cheeseburger and within minutes, he is hollering "out". This is something we seem to be going through lately when it comes to dinner time. He wants out before he is done. I know he is going to be fussing for something to eat soon after but we just take each night at a time. Not a surprise, within minutes, he was wanting something to eat and instead of finishing his cheeseburger, he wanted more grapes. I am glad that my son chooses a healthy choice over something that is not. And I better enjoy it now because I know when he is older, it will probably be the other way around. I say, that as long as you manage what you eat on a daily basis, then should be able to treat yourself to something bad every now and then. But for Cohen, he goes for the grapes.

Happy Anniversary...

...to one of the most wonderful and loveable couple that I know. I call them Mom and Dad. Today marks 32 years of them putting up with, caring for and loving one another. To give a little insight on them, well let's just say my mom gets to celebrate two anniversaries a year. For the ones that don't know, my parents married at a young age and were blessed with ME all in the same year. My dad joined the service and times were ruff for this young couple with a baby. Having said that, they decided to part ways. I was just a little one so I don't remember much of that but I do know they both loved me very much and did their best to continue raise me the best they could. I was blessed and yes, somewhat spoiled too. Bringing you forward to eight years later, God did some work in their hearts and brought them back together and they remarried. So I got to attend both ceremonies, heehee. Now, I tell you all of this because this is a true testimony of what God will do in your lives. Even living a good life is alright, but with Him guiding your way, makes it all the better. I am so blessed to have them as my parents and I am so proud of them. They have been through a lot over the last 32 years but they, along with God's help, have made it and continue to show love to one another. And with out any doubt, they know it was all God and only He can get you through the ruff times. So, here's to you, Mom and Dad, we love you very much and are very thankful for all you do for us.

The Award goes to...

...Me? Aw shucks, you shouldn't have Linda. That being the Honest Scrap Award that requires you to list ten honest things about yourself and then pass it along to other bloggers. Well I am honored that she picked me and hope that I can make her proud. In no particular order, here it goes...

1) I do not like veggies. I mean, I like salads but that is about it. It wasn't until a couple years ago, that I would tolerate a few green beans, thanks to my mother-in-love. I will eat carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes (cut up into small bites), raw broccoli, however, they must be drenched in some kind of dipping sauce, which knocks out the whole healthy idea.

2) Frustration. Something that I battle with a lot. I try my best not so show it and unless you see me everyday, then you probably would never know. It doesn't take much sometimes and most of the time, it is over something not important. This is something that I am working on and praying to God to help me with.

3) You probably have ran across this via my blog, but I am really bad about typing the wrong word or leaving out a word. I was never good in English and for sure not a good writer. Example: I would like to here that new song on the radio. I know what I should have typed, but somehow my brain sends out the other. Go figure. Somehow I passed English and though you might laugh out when reading one of these mistakes, you probably got what I meant anyway (LOL).

4) I do not like cartoon character clothing and I am very picky of what my son wears (my husband is worse). Don't care too much for the Mickey Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Handy Manny, or any other character clothing. Most of Cohen's clothing comes from The Children's Place and very few of those items were paid for at regular price. I always get them on sale and use coupons. I guess I can add that I don't like cartoon character bedding either and hope that I never have to cross this battle with my son wanting something of that nature. Recently my mom and I were out shopping and she wanted to buy him a Mickey Mouse shirt and asked for my approval. I checked it and thought it wasn't too bad, so I didn't object. Here is a picture of that shirt. But this is as far as it will go.

5) Obsessed with Cohen's boogers. I will say that as he is getting older, I don't mess that much with him but when he was a baby. Poor little guy. I always had the nasal aspirator in hand. If there was a booger in the nose, I was going to get it. And I even picked a few that were hanging with my own finger, Gross, I know but when I became a mommy, things like that don't bother me.

6) Love to balance our checkbook, pay bills (not literally, would prefer to be keeping the money) and work on the budget constantly. I have a spreadsheet that has all the bills listed along with the amounts, due date, how each one is paid, and a spot to mark PAID. I have a breakdown on each month that shows where our money is going to for the bills, amount for grocery, gas, and shopping, etc. Not sure why, because I don't think I have ever looked back to see the comparison of the months. But I love to work on the spreadsheet and although, it rarely happens, if there is a positive or negative number in the checkbook, I love to search and find that mistake. Should have been an accountant. I just wish the numbers were a lot higher to play with.

7) Although, I LOVE a clean house and wish I was a compulsive cleaner (one of those that can not go to bed until something is cleaned), I am not. I have tried but I guess I am lazy. Every now and then (very few) I do get into the cleaning mood and usually want stop. But most of the time, the rooms get pretty bad before I finally make myself clean them. Now, let me define what I mean by clean. For the most part, things get picked up and put away, dishes washed after dinner, but the vacuuming, mopping and dusting, etc., well that is what we get slack on. Every morning, I scream that the bathroom has to be cleaned that night and when I get home, well it just doesn't happen. Don't get me wrong, we do not let it get so bad to where things could grow, but it gets really dirty.

8) With the exception of keeping up with a clean house, I do love to organize things. (Although I have been a little slack in this area lately). I do like for things to get messy, whether it is a drawer, a closet or my desk at work, so messy that I have to work to get things organized. For example, my desk at work, I would let things pile up, go through it and then work on whatever it is. I make a list, then I will make another list organizing the list. Just talking about it now makes me want to go home and organize something.

9) I hate to cook. Never have. I am very fortunate that I am married to a guy that accepts it (never complains) and will eat whatever I fix. Which mostly involves something quick to fix, frozen meals or microwavable. I wish I did and sometimes I do fix a few good meals. If it wasn't for the Tuesday Night Dinners at GG's, we probably wouldn't get a homemade meal. Now, here lately, there has been a change. We, and I do mean Charlie and I, have been cooking a little more. I believe quoted from my husband one night, "This is a Libby meal". What a compliment! Maybe one day I can turn the I hate to cook into loving it. (Now let me add, we do make sure Cohen eats well and gets his veggies and fruits)

10) I love to color. Now, I am not an artist and can not draw, but give me a coloring book and I am happy girl. I will even doodle with markers and colored pens here at work. I even have a box of crayons and a coloring book at my desk just in case there is a need to color. Although I do not color as much as I use to, I still have the urge every now and then and find it very relaxing.

~~~
Ok, so that is what I came up of with. I am sure there are tons more that I could dish out but I found it really hard to just come up with these ten. So now I am passing it own to my fellow bloggers (who I might add have not been blogging in a while), just maybe this will get you back on track. Amy, Michelle and Melanie, your turn girls.....
"Charming Charlie"
and no I am not talking about My Charlie (although he is very charming at times) but rather an adorable, handsome 2 month old I had the pleasure of getting to meet for the very first time. Saturday, we, along with GG and Pops, headed to Rock Hill to visit the Alexanders and their bundle of joy, Charlie. Of course, I am a follower to their family blog, so I am able to see pictures and hear what is going on with them, but nothing like getting to see them in person. Monty and Lindsay are such a sweet couple and always a joy to be around. We also had the pleasure of getting to see Cindy, Lindsay's lovely mom, again. After a few hours of chatting and admiring that cute little boy, we headed back home. Thank you Monty and Lindsay for having us over. Cohen says thank you for the banana too! We truly enjoyed it and look forward to more get togethers and watching our little boys grow up together.
"Cohen, do you think we can talk Daddy into having another one?"
"In Good Hands, believe me!"
16 Years
since we have seen each other and now, through that wonderful thing called Facebook, we have reconnected. Amy and I attended Blue Ridge Middle school, 6th thru 8th grade. We cheered together, screamed our heads off at the "New Kids on the Block" concert at Furman University, was on 8th grade Student Council, and had plenty of sleepovers. We even managed to sneak out on one of those sleepovers only to be caught by my dad. (Dad, you remember this story, right?) We lived on a North Greenville College campus in Tigerville at the time and we were just two teenagers out for some innocent fun and yes Dad, it was innocent. But I might add, that now that I am mother, I sure hope Cohen doesn't do this kind of thing. Like all teenage girls, we also had our girly fights but we managed to stay friends through out middle school. While Amy went on to attend Blue Ridge High, my family moved and I had to change schools. It was a ruff time for me and although I hated leaving my friends, I managed and started making new friends. Next thing I know, years have gone by and I had lost contact with my friends from middle school. How awesome is it to go from around the age of 13 to now 31, and be able to reconnect with a childhood friend.
Since it had been so long, Amy and I met for dinner last night at Fatz. It was really great to see her and be able to catch up. She has been married over ten years and has four children. Four kids, I just could not imagine. But she loves it and wouldn't have it any other way. It was great getting to hear what had been going on in her life and remembering stories of when we were younger. Next thing you know, it had been over 3 1/2 of us just sitting there chatting up a storm. But what do you expect, after 16 years, we had a lot to catch up on. We plan to continue a get together every now and then to stay in touch. Enjoyed it Girl!
16 years later
Uncle Meeker!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
The youngest of the three boys, Clark turns 24 today. It is so much fun sitting back and listening to stories from when the boys were younger. It appears that Clark was always the one that was picked on and talked into almost anything from the other two. At the beginning, when I came around, Clark was very quiet and didn't say much to me. Now he jumps right in and nags me almost as much as the other boys. Clark is such a sweetheart and we wish him the best on this special day! Clark, know that we are always here for you and love you very much. Hope you have a Great Birthday!
Facebook Fever
I joined back in October. All thanks should go to a good friend from High School, Chad Tumblin, who I in fact would send and receive emails every now and then, sharing photos of our little boys. He has a boy that is about to turn 2. Anyway, I emailed him to pass along my family blog, which I would get a response that I was a dork and that I needed to join Facebook. After a few weeks, I decided to. Since then, I have reconnected with so many people. From a best friend in elementary and several people I attended middle school with to friends from the church I grew up in and many graduates from Wade Hampton High. Not to mention the few family members that I am able to catch up on. So all in all, I have enjoyed this so called Facebook thing and guess I owe it all to Chad. (Chad, if you read this, do not let it go to your head, LOL). Thanks to him, a once a month girls dinner has been started with girls I graduated with, catching up with people that I haven't seen since 1989, and getting to hear about and see photos of friends and their families. Gotta say, I love it.
If you are on facebook, then you know this is true! Too funny.
Splish Splash
For the most part, Cohen really loves taking baths. It wasn't until recently that he has learned that after bath time, he has to get ready for bed. So sometimes, he gets a little fussy when we say "time for bath" and he says "noooooooooooo". Other times, he will run into his room and get a washcloth (hasn't learned to just grab one) and heads straight to the tub. He loves to slide on his tummy from one end to the other, put his head under the faucet or in the water, and especially the splashing. Never fails to walk away a little soaked.
Enjoying what we call "the waterfall" "working at the car wash" "Not these pajamas"
Trying to decide which diaper he wants to put on!
To Cut or Not to Cut...
...that is mommy's question. Daddy has been after me to get Cohen's first hair cut done. He believes it is looking like a mullet but I beg to differ. I mean it might could just a little trimming in the back but I just don't know if I am ready. This is his very first hair cut and he just started getting more hair. I think more less, I am scared that some lady is going to whack it all off or make some mistake of his little cute head. And of course, I know I can try to trim it, however, I think that it would be in his best interest to allow a professional for this kind of job.
So my question to you is what do you think? To cut or not to cut? Here are a few pictures.
After a long day of playing and napping
After a good scrub in the tub...
17 Months
Today Cohen is 17 months. And BOY is he growing. There really isn't any big changes since a month ago, however, he is becoming more and more testy when he doesn't get his way. I had mentioned it before that he has learned the word "no" well now he has begun using it with a vengeance. He even added the shaking of the head with his "no".
Something that he is has really improved on lately is pointing at objects when you ask him to, whether it be in a book, something on his shirt or just about anything, he points right to it. He does really well in the "Look and Find" books. And although it is too soon, it sounded like he counted to the No. 9 the other night. You say a number and then he would say it. I could make out some of the numbers he was repeating but others no so much. But when I said 9, it really sounded like it. I was impressed or maybe a mommy was hearing what she wanted to hear (LOL). Either way, I think he is and will be a smart cookie.....
Doing something right
is a feeling that I have when my almost 17 month old enjoys and loves reading his bible. It is one of his favorite books and we will find him throwing the other books out of the basket, reach for that one and appear to read it. It is so cute! So last night, I was sitting in the glider and he came over to me with it. However he didn't want to sit in my lap and have mommy read to him, no, he directed me out of the chair and patted the seat. I picked him up and placed him in it. He proceeded to look and turn each page of the bible. Gotta love it. Made this mommy proud! I pray that we, as his parents, will continue to show God through us and he will know the unconditional love of God and know Christ as his personal Lord and Savior.
Here is a little video clip! (pause music on playlist so you can hear)
Warning!!!!!
to all first time mommies. Something that I have learned as Cohen became mobile and would roam the house freely, we started missing things like the remotes to the T.V., the baby monitors, pacifiers and even some of my makeup. Now these missing items would eventually turn up at some point but it was always a place you didn't expect it. It would be a few months before we found one of the baby monitors and one time, GG informed me that his pacey went missing, later to find it had been placed in Pops shoe. I sometimes find my turkey baster (not that I have ever used it) or a measuring cup through out the house in some odd place. I really don't mind this kind of thing happening but the items we use on a day to day basis, well that is a different story. Some of you may ask, have you not child proofed your house or why not put these items out of reach? My answer to that would be, we have child proofed and put out of reach the more dangerous items and we probably need to do a little more especially before he decides to do something worse like place an item in the toilet and flush it. So we just take each day at a time and see what we need to do next, in hopes that he might just learn to not mess with the things he shouldn't. But some of the things he does is just darn cute. Here is some recent examples of what we find.
Do they make locks for trash cans? already learning his measurements
Check your shoe before inserting your foot
And I will also add, toy disasters will happen in less than 3 minutes. Can I say too many toys?
Remember when...
...is a poplar saying when you gather with old friends to catch up. Now I really don't like referring to them as old, although, we are getting up there in age (lol), but rather just friends you lost in touch with. That is something that I find very sad is the years that have gone by and how much I have missed out on in their lives, however, I can not dwell on it but enjoy the times we are sharing together now and do our best to keep in touch. Some of which I didn't really know that well in school but have had the chance to know now with the wonderful thing called Facebook (now that is whole other story to blog about). But how I have loved every bit of it. Nothing like a group of gals getting together and remembering when, who or where.
Last night, a much larger group, got together for our third girl's dinner and chat at Olive Garden. There were a few first timers and it was really great getting to see everyone. I do believe we all had a good time and we shared lots of laughs. Looking forward to the next one in February where we will gather at one of our High School hang outs "Taco Casa" (thanks Nikki for mentioning it). Did you know that they have a website? And Lauree, we will make sure you have plenty of napkins, LOL, love ya girl!
The 100th post...
...and plus a few more that I have completed on our blog. I believe to be exact that the post My Followers marks it. Having this blog has been fun and I love sharing with you what has been going on with our lives. I truly hope that you have enjoyed reading as well and will continue following it. I have told a few people that this blog is kind of like a scrap book to me which is something a few years back I truly enjoyed doing and haven't in a long time. So in a way this blog has replaced it, which I do hope that I will get back into scrap booking.
I will also take this time to thank the ones who have added themselves as one of my followers and/or made a comment letting me know you follow our blog. Not only do I love blogging but I love following other blogs as well and have shared a few of those with you. If you have a blog and would like to share with me, I would be thrilled to follow yours. If you haven't added yourself to my followers link, I would LOVE to know who you are......You don't even have to add a cute little picture of yourself if don't want to, just your name.
Thanks for following!!!!
Come on in...
...mommy, to our fort. Something we have enjoyed starting with Cohen is building some kind of tent or as mommy was corrected by daddy, that it is called a fort. Last night, as I was going through and filing away a stack of bills (obviously paid), insurance documents or other paperwork that I have allowed to stack high and that goes far back as the month of July (I think I allow this to occur, because I love to organize things and organizing things is fun to me, yeah I am weird), but anyway as I was saying, I managed to hear daddy doing something and after catching the word fort, I ran to get my camera. And this is what I found in little man's room. I am sure there will be a day when mommy isn't allowed to enter the fort but today, I am welcomed in. Cohen gets so excited and hollers with his southern draw (yes, he got it from me) for BoBooooo (aka Bogey) to join. These times are so much fun!
Climbing onto, into and under....
Just like any typical kid, Cohen loves to climb onto, into and under anything. He has climbed into the cabinets, loves to get under the kitchen table, either stand or sit on the ledge in the frig and a while back has learned to climb onto this toy chair (gift from GG and Pops on his 1st birthday). Something he learned on his own. He started off my just wanting to stand in the chair and would fall down. Then one night, daddy hollered for me to come in there to learn this new thing of his. He climbs into the seat, onto the small play desk and reaches for the light switch. He will do this several times, turn it on and off. I haven't been able to get a picture yet but here is what the chair looks like.
It never fails to find him doing something new and as a new parent, it is exciting to see these new things. Everyday, I am reminded that your child grows up really fast and to enjoy every minute because soon this climbing thing will become a memory. Here are a few other examples of what this little boy does.
Removing the diapers made room for him to sit....
If the door opens, he comes a running....
Hallelujah!!!!
I just thought I would give you an update on how Cohen is doing at night. Officially two weeks today, since putting the front of the crib back on, he has slept in his bed through out the night AND one week from today (with the exception of last Tuesday at GG's) he has slept, now get this, through the whole night. The night at GG's was pretty good but he did still wake up and cry out on and off for a little while. Also, he seems to sleep until I wake him up in the morning and has only woke up on his own a few times. But luckily it has been after 7 o'clock which has been perfect. That has allowed me to sleep a little more and most of the time I am ready before he awakes. I just hope that he learns that he can sleep in on Saturdays and a little longer on Sundays.
I cant believe it and all this time, just possibly, if I had either left the crib together or just tried this attempt earlier than we did, I could have been sleeping through the night. Oh well, you live and learn.
But I am so proud of our little guy and hope he continues to sleep through the night. The only downfall is that he still wakes up when I either get up from the glider or try to lay him down, he may cry out for a while but then he falls fast asleep.
The next step is to skip the rocking and put him straight in his crib. Just maybe, he will surprise us on that one.
No title comes to mind...
Since I am not the creative one when it comes to writing, I just could not come up with a title for this post. It is a Monday after all.
~~~
We did have a good weekend though. We got Chick-fil-a for dinner and hung out at GG's for a little while on Friday night.
~~~
I told Charlie that he could sleep in Saturday morning with the intentions of taking Cohen with me to my weekly grocery trip. That didn't happen except the Charlie sleeping in part. It was all I could do to drag myself out of bed when I heard the cries at 6:50 am. Just hoping that Cohen would be willing to cuddle and possibly go back to sleep for a little while. That didn't happen. Seeing that sweet little smile of his makes it better. So we got up, ate some breakfast, watched a little Disney, played awhile and just when I thought he might want to take a morning nap well, That didn't happen. Time for me to get ready and meet my mom at the movies to check out Bride Wars which was a really cute chick flick. Since I have been restricting myself from spending extra money, I was really bad and just paid for the movie ticket. I mean, have you seen the prices on the food at the theaters these days. It is just crazy and yes I will admit, this wasn't my first time. I decided to bring my own gotta have Diet Coke and candy (chocolate and sweet) which I went for Mounds and Mike and Ikes. Of course my wonderful mom provided the gotta have popcorn bucket. After the movies and a quick trip to the grocery store, I joined Charlie and Cohen over at GG and Pops where they had been spending the afternoon visiting and Cohen was finally taken the nap he needed. After Pops heard that Cohen seemed to enjoy some shrimp his mommy fixed the other night, that gave him the idea of going to Silver Bay, yummy. He asked if we were up for it and if you know me, well you know I love, love, love, and love shrimp. So YES, we were up for it. And it was every bit as good as I anticipated it would be.
~~~
Sunday, we got ready to head to Church. I had mentioned before that I had visited a new Church so this was Charlie and Cohen's first time. Charlie liked it and Cohen seemed to do very well in the infant class, a little cry here and there but he managed. I do look forward to continuing visiting and getting to meet new people. Coming up in February, since they don't have other services, they do what is called Life Groups. I have planned to join one and I am really looking forward to meeting new people and of course, learn something from God. Now there were several groups I wanted to attend but decided I best pick one for now. The study that I am going to take is something that I feel I really need to learn to work on at this time in my life. The book is Lord, Change My Attitude by James MacDonald. Can't wait to share what affect this will have on my life.
~~~
Cohen was tired from the playtime in the nursery so of course he fell asleep on the way home. While napping, I fixed the hubby and myself a bite to eat and I decided a quick nap would be nice too. Later, Cohen and I joined Grandma and Papa at the mall to spend a little time with them. My best-in-the-world hubby did some laundry and cleaning around the house. He is the best in my eyes! The rest of the evening would become just a usual night at the Gibsons....
My Followers
You will see that I have added a followers gadget to the blog and would REALLY LOVE to know who my followers are, even if I don't know you. Go ahead and add that cute little face of yours.
So who is going to be the first?
Thank you for taking time to check out our blog.
I'm too blessed to be stressed....
....That's my word and I'm sticking to it!!!!
Below is an email that I received today from a close friend. And when I read it, it hit home and was just what I needed to hear right now. Thought it was too good not to share with you. It might be just what you need to hear as well.
Today's word from Joel and Victoria
Have you ever felt like you were in a pit of despair? Just like God lifted David out, God is going to lift you out. Where you are right now is not where you’re going to stay. There are brighter days up ahead for you filled with favor, promotion, and increase. As you walk uprightly before Him, no good thing will He withhold from you.
Notice that God gives us a new song. We have to do our part to sing that song. That means you don’t go around talking about your problems, how bad things are, or how you’re never going to make it. No, you have a song of victory! If somebody asks you how you’re doing, your attitude should be, "I’m too blessed to be stressed! I’m moving forward in strength and power." Remember, praise precedes the victory, and the Bible tells us that God is enthroned on our praises. As you magnify and lift Him up, He will lift you up out of your despair. He’ll set your feet on solid ground, and you’ll move forward in joy and victory in every area of your life.
That little boy of mine
I am currently reading Bringing Up Boys by Dr. James Dobson (a gift from my mother-in-love). So far, I am truly enjoying it. In the beginning, he mentions part of some lyrics from a song called "That Little Boy Of Mine"... Of course as I read it, I automatically thought of my little boy. Everyday, I am reminded of how blessed I am to be a mother and how much joy this little person brings into my life. He is one of the loves of my life (first being God and second my loving husband) and I pray that he grows up knowing that he is and will always be loved by me, no matter what. Since I thought it was sweet and had never heard of it, I wanted to share it with you.
A tiny turned up nose,
Two cheeks just like a rose,
All sweet from head to toes,
That little boy of mine.
Two eyes that shine so bright,
Two lips to kiss goodnight
Two arms to hold me tight,
That little boy of mine.
No one could ever know
how much your coming has meant.
Because I love you so,
you're something heaven sent.
You're all the world to me.
You climb upon my knee.
To me you'll always be,
That little boy of mine.
Teetheeeeeee.....
For a while now, we have been practicing brushing Cohen's teeth. I believe with a mouth full, it is never to early to get in the habit. He now has a total of 16 which he seemed to get all of them very early. Since he did not care too much about it, my dentist recommended a tooth brush that might make some kind of vibration or noise, at least it worked with her child. So, Santa brought him one that sings "If you're happy and you know it, brush your teeth", which has a little vibration to it too. Cohen appears to love it and after getting ready for bed, if you ask him "do you want to brush your teeth", his response is ah-huh followed by teetheeeeeeeeeee. What can I say, he is adorable!
Here he is showing off his freshly clean teeth
