Can I say Yummy!

I joined Mom and Dad along with Cohen at the ever so good restaurant "Longhorn Steakhouse" for dinner Monday night to celebrate her birthday. It was soooooo good and I enjoyed their wonderful grilled shrimp.

It is always wonderful spending time with family and especially having such special parents makes life great. I am so grateful to God for my parents. They are so loving and caring and they would do anything for me and my family.

Mom, I hope you had a wonderful birthday and we love you......

Oh, What a Joy!

Sunday, we joined family and friends to celebrate with Monty and Lindsay at their baby shower. It is so wonderful to watch another couple get to experience the joy of expecting their first child. It is like no other feeling and such a special gift from God. You can see the pure happiness in Lindsay and Monty as they await their becoming of parents and the big moment in bringing their little boy into this world.

An Amazing and Heartwarming Film!

On Saturday, Charlie and I went to go see the movie "Fireproof". First, let me say that I thought it was a great movie and that it didn't contain any profanity, nudity, etc. that the movie industry today thinks will make a good movie.

It had a little action, some comedy and yes, the mushy stuff but it does make you stop and think about how you treat your spouse and maybe another loved one. It is amazing at how people can treat the ones they say they love and talk to each other terribly. You would think if you loved someone you wouldn't talk to that person that way. But we are human and we do forget sometimes in a heated or frustrated moment on how we should act or respond. Or maybe that is the way people are use to acting and it has become the norm for them and not sure of how to change. Either way, that is when we need God and his assistance in the matter to help you deal with the situation and work it out the way he would want us to.

No matter what your faith or belief is, you can not walk away from this movie and not be changed in the way you treat your spouse or family and friends.

Happy Birthday Mom a.k.a Grandma!!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO GRANDMA, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!

You are a wonderful mom and grandma and we appreciate all you do for us. Please know that you are very special and are loved very much!

WE LOVE YOU AND HOPE YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!

Thank Goodness it's Friday!

The week has been long and now the weekend is almost here and of course it will fly by as usual BUT at least we have a couple days off, Right? Charlie even has off on Saturday, which I am very thankful for since he is leaving Sunday for out of town work in Charleston for a week. Bummer but it has to be done.

Last night, we joined my parents at Silver Bay for some delicious Crab Legs. Oh they were so good and messy. Cohen even partook in a small bite of the crab legs. No big reaction. Not sure how many pounds I ate but I did have two plates, wow, that is a lot. Worth it though.

Speaking of Cohen eating. Something funny he has been doing lately, when he is eating and decides he would like a drink or another bit of something else, well he just spits out what he is chewing on. I guess he hasn't grasped the concept of swallowing before drinking or taking another bite. We have learned not to ask if he wants another bite before he is done with what he has in his mouth (he even does it for the same thing he is eating). Funny, but I sure do hope he grows out of that. I may add that he doesnt do it all the time.

Charlie and I are going to go check out the movie "Fireproof" on Saturday. I have heard reviews on the movie and that it was really good so I am excited about that. On Sunday, as Charlie is leaving for Charleston, myself along with my in-loves, are headed down to Columbia to attend a baby shower for Charlie's cousin, Monty, and his wife, Lindsay, who are expecting a little Charlie in November. It is always a pleasure seeing all the Alexanders and the Howards and getting to spend time with them.

To all, I hope you have a wonderful weekend and stay safe.....
Love you and God Bless you......

"Fireproof"

Tomorrow is the release of "Fireproof", a movie about a real marriage and the struggles it faces when you dont have God in your life. I encourage everyone to go check it out and let me know what you thought about it. Charlie and I are going to go see it this weekend so I will pass along my thoughts on it as well.

Happy 40th Birthday You Ol' Redneck!

Three Wonderful Years

Today we celebrate our third anniversary. Sometimes it is hard to believe it has been three years but then sometimes I think it has been longer. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful relationship and enjoy each other so very much. I am ever so grateful that God brought us together and continues to bless us tremendously. I can only imagine what he has in store for us in the future.

To my best friend, thanks for being such a wonderful and loving (and picking) husband that you are! I love you!!!

Brushing those pearly whites.......

Now that Cohen has twelve teeth and it appears to be working on more, we have started teaching him how to brush his teeth. He isn't always cooperative and probably prefers to chew on the brush, but we have to start somewhere.

Cohen's First Year

Here is a slideshow of a few pictures from Cohen's first year that we wanted to share with you. This was something that was to be done at the beginning but I just never got around to it. It is hard to believe that his first year has came and gone. It sure flew by and he has changed so much. Of course, he is as adorable as he was one his first day in this world. Enjoy!

What a relaxing weekend!

So I survived the whole weekend without Cohen. It was actually nice having a weekend to our selves. We started off by doing nothing Friday night but just laying on the couch and watching T.V. On Saturday, unfortunately, Charlie was called into work for a little while (I want comment on that) but that did allow me to catch up on some house cleaning until he arrived home. We were going to go to a movie but there wasn't much we wanted to see, so we settled on picking up a few blockbuster movies. However, we did have a delicious meal at KanPai of Tokyo. That was SO good!!! I ate way too much. Sunday, we just slept in which is something Charlie never gets to do. Later, I met mom to pick up our little man. I do believe he grew a little more over the weekend because he looked older. It was a very relaxing weekend with the hubby which we intend to have more of those but it was nice having our little man home again.

"Two Months Away"

We all are getting very excited but not as much as Clint and Kimberly as they await for their "BIG DAY"! I know it is going to be a beautiful wedding and we can not wait to attend. Love you guys and remember what this big day is all about, YOU TWO and the love you share with each other!

"While the child is away, the parents will play"

For the first time, I am allowing myself to let Cohen stay with Grandma and Papa for the whole weekend. He has only stayed away one night at a time. It is a "NEED A BREAK" time. And, being that our 3rd anniversary is next week, we are going to do something special before daddy has to go out of town. So, Mom and Dad, enjoy little man and have a great weekend!

Keeping track of our "Growing Weed"

Something I had been wanting to get is a growth chart to keep record of our little guy. After searching for the one I would want and finding that a decent one costs a good penny, I decided to attempt to make one myself. I am not an artist by all means but I think it turned out cute and decided to share it with you. Some of the items are actually glued on but I did attempt to paint a few on my own. I just love being crafty!

Will he ever say Mama?

Just got a call from GG (aka Libby) and I was informed that Cohen said Clint (his uncle) but more like "kint" as he was looking at some of pictures of his Uncle. So now that has been da da, pa pa, GG, cathy and cookie BUT NO MAMA. Everyone including the Doctor says the letter M is a hard letter to pick up well at least he is talking, right? I guess he is just saving the "BEST FOR LAST"....

We may have lost, but we sure look cute

Sad about the loss, Cohen still wanted to sport his jersey. Can I say adorable?

Not too young to enjoy the fun.....

Saturday, Cohen and I joined my mom aka Grandma to meet an old friend along with her kids at Frankie's Fun Park. Seeing that there isn't much for a One year old, mom introduced one of her favorites games, ski ball, to Cohen. He just loved walking back and forth, watching the balls come back and banging on the cover.

Cohen's First Birthday

Cohen Decator Gibson, our sweet little boy. He just celebrated his First Birthday on August 22nd. I believe his mommy enjoyed the party more than he did (it was really fun planning it and she looks foward to many more to plan). His first year could not have been more perfect. He has been such a joy to have in our lives and I am sure I speak for everyone that knows him. First 12 mo check up went well. He was 21 lbs and 31.5 inches and he did not love the shots. We have been very blessed that he has not been sick; however, a few days after his 12 mo check up he came down with something, very very high fevers. After being pricked, cathed and a $75 prescription, we still dont know what was wrong. The GOOD NEWS is that he is better.
