A Successful "Trick or Treat"

I wasn't sure how this day was going to turn out with dealing with some yucky weather and Cohen's first trick or treat. Wondering if he would actually wear his costume (one that I was super excited about), if he would even walk up to some stranger's door, or if he would have just some huge meltdown and ready to go home??? Overall, it turned out to be successful one. The plan this year was to just walk Cohen around our cul-de-sac and the off to visit a few people that we know would love to see him. After a visit from Grandma and Papa, we got ready to start our rounds. Thinking he wouldn't walk up the door and say trick or treat, he would surprise me. Now he never would say trick or treat but he had no problem going to the door. Or maybe it was just the thought of getting "Candy" that got him to do it. He even asked one lady, "more please?"... He was doing so good and seemed to be enjoying it, so we made a few more stops in our neighborhood. And that is when the rain started again. We headed over to GG and Pops' neighborhood to make a few stops there and then off to Uncle Clint and Aunt Kimmie's. Even though we had to deal with the rain, we had a good time and plenty of candy for mommy and daddy to enjoy too!!!

Happy Halloween!!!

Trick or Treat, smell my feet
give me something good to eat.
If you don't, I don't care,
I'll pull down your underwear!

Not sure if in fact this is an appropriate song to teach a two year old but after the first time he heard it (from his daddy of course), he had it memorized and has been singing it everyday since. You mention the words "trick or treat" and he starts and I have to say, it is adorable coming out of his sweet little mouth....
Happy Halloween Everybody!

A Busy Month!

Not sure where October went but it sure did fly by. I cant wait to see how Halloween turns out tomorrow. I am super excited about Cohen's costume and hoping that he is very cooperative with it. He seems excited but never know when the time comes for actually wearing it. But this month has been very busy, from baby showers to working on several projects, from participating in a walk for a good cause to working on Cayden's nursery, let's just say that I am ready for a SLOW DOWN...

First I will give an update on the pregnancy. Everything is going really good and really shouldn't complain, however I have to admit, I am ready for it to be over with. Ready to not be pregnant anymore and of course, ready to hold my baby girl. I am not as big as I was with Cohen but very, very uncomfortable. I feel like I have a bowling ball strapped to me. Cayden is a very active one and constantly moving all day and all night long. She woke me up the other night and for about an hour and half was working on her first dance routine. Unless she has other plans (which wouldn't surprise me), we hope to meet her the last week in December. Though I wanted to have the nursery completed by the end of this month, we still have a few more things to do. But it almost there (minus a search for some accessories) and it is looking really cute. Hope to post pictures within the next week....

One of my many events this month was participating in a Memory Walk for Alzheimer's. A few of us gals joined our dear friend, Crystal, in showing our support for her Grandmother. We had a great time and look forward to participating again next year!

Another fun event was a baby shower given by these dear friends that I am so thankful for! Once again, I am so blessed to be surrounded by a great group of gals. They definitely made me feel special. I truly enjoyed every one's company and the delicious brunch that was prepared. Miss Cayden received lots of those must needed baby items, some personalized gifts and even her first tu-tu. Now you may be wondering what happened in this picture. It is just one of the many shots we tried to take of us four together. I wanted to get a picture of me with these three hostesses and since I am very forgetful these days, we had to attempt it ourselves. After all the laughter and crying and try after try, we did end up getting one with all four heads in the picture. But this shot reminds of how much fun we were having and a great memory of being with my girls!!!! So, Kristen, Lindsay and Crystal, thank you for making a girl feel special and for a terrific shower...

Hope everyone has a great Halloween tomorrow!!!

A Little Peek

CAN'T WAIT TO SHOW YOU THE FINISHED NURSERY!!!

Forget Pumpkin Carving...

...we went for pumpkin poking and painting!!!! Every year, I love to carve a pumpkin and still may manage to do one this year. Since Cohen isnt of "carving" age, I decided to pick out some Halloween felt stickers and added them with his assistance of where he wanted them placed. Though I might have to continue gluing the stickers on each year, I am sure I will enjoy pulling his sticker pumpkin out every Halloween. The monogrammed pumpkin was fun to make. With some paint, Halloween ribbon and a 3D spider, I think it turned out really cute. Now the lighted pumpkin had a tad bit more work involved but was worth it. An idea from a close friend, a few of us gals got together and made these. With our husbands drills in hand, we drilled holes, inserted the lights and added fall ribbon so we could enjoy through November as well. Whether it is carving or painting a pumpkin, I am looking forward to making this a tradition with the kids!!

Shower Blessings Continued....

A few weekends ago, I was blessed again by a dear friend of mine, Phyllis, who gave a baby shower for Miss Cayden. Ms. Phyllis and I use to work together a little over a year ago. She was there from the beginning of when we started trying for our first child. She even "called it" before I took a pregnancy test. Everyday for nine months, she listened to all my baby talk, gave advice on all my worries and enjoyed lots of pregnancy cravings with me. She has been such a great friend and I am thankful to have her in my life.
The shower was great! Miss Cayden received lots of baby necessities, adorable clothes and one of my favorite gifts of all ~ "Pieces of her Nursery Bedding"!!! I apologize, but there will not be any posting of these pictures at this time. I prefer to wait till I have the rest and it is all placed in her room (which I might add that the nursery is looking ADORABLE)....With great friends, yummy food and an absolutely, beautiful "did-not-want-to-cut" Cake, I had a great time and cant wait for Cayden to get here and put this stuff into use.......

Preschool Days!

It has now been a month since Cohen was dropped off for his first day of preschool and I have to say it didn't take as long as I thought for him to adjust. He probably cried the first four times but after that, GG was able to take him in the room and he was ready to play. Snack time, playground and lunch time seem to be his favorite parts of the day. His least favorite is craft time but he is starting to participate a little more each time he goes. Sharing and playing with others continues to be a work in progress but Ms. Jennifer informs me that he is getting better.
Though we are still dealing with some terrible two issues, every day I am amazed of how fast our little man is growing and what he continues to learn or pick up. I love to hear him talk and now single words have become sentences and we have heard him count to 13. You will catch him singing his ABC's, Jesus loves me or a few other songs he has picked up. He will finish a line in a book before you do and one of the cutest words he says is Hippopotamus. Watching your child learn and grow is one of the greatest gifts!!!!

Daddy's New Ride
