Beach, here we come!

Today, the car is packed and we are headed to the BEACH. Something we have been waiting for a long time to get here. It is going to be nice to have a Holiday away from the normal everyday life, even if it is just for a week. Sunny skies (hopefully), lounging on the beach, watching the kiddos play, yummy meals every night and spending time with all the Alexanders, Howards and Gibsons....Of course, I will be away from the computer all week but will plan to take many pictures to share with you when we get back. Until, I will leave you with a few from last year. Cohen's first beach trip and oh has he changed since then.

Crab Legs and The Belly

Last night, to celebrate Father's Day and an early celebration for my birthday, my parents took us out to dinner to indulge one's appetite (that being me) for some yummy seafood. And boy was it GOOD! The decision of what I was going to eat was already made prior to my arrival but then I had to pick 2 clusters or 4 clusters. The pregnant woman opted for the 4 clusters. I mean, after all I am eating for 2 now. I also enjoyed a wonderful bowl of Lobster Bisque. Um um GOOD! Somebody ("MOM") had to mention the birthday girl but the sweet, young waitress promised me that they would not sing but would love to bring a slice of cake. Sure, why not! But it wasn't I who was really into the very rich chocolate cake.

What's this? Finger Lickin' Good!!!

After dinner, we sent our little man off to enjoy some time with his Grandma and Papa for a few days before we head to the beach. Thanks Mom and Dad for the yummy dinner! Love you both bunches!!!

And now,

For that belly shot that I told myself I would not show. I am definitely pregnant, looking like I am already 5 months and NO, we are not having twins..... It is a good thing that many have informed me that it is normal to show earlier with your second because I would have begun to worry. Oh man, I have a feeling I am going to be huge....

Happy B-Day Auntie!

Sending you love and wishes on your Special Day!
Love ya!!!

22 months

Yesterday marked 22 months. Getting close to the BIG DAY of turning 2!!!! Oh, this particular stage has been fun. He can be so testy at times but then so lovable. We have had some meltdowns. None that you may have seen in a store, so far he has done really well in public.
~
He was recently introduced to matchbox cars and oh the love he has for those. Calls them all "race cars". We have treated him a few times while visiting the store, the purchasing of these cars. So now, every time I mention that we have to go the store, he ask "race cars?", "Me race cars?"... And he doesn't seem to want to share either. He will ask Daddy to play and will give him the not-so-good race cars. We have been working on this sharing thing but I guess it is just part of this stage.
~
Cohen is also know as "ME"!!! Everything is referred to as "me".
~
I have mentioned that he loves the water. He now will go under by himself and stay a little longer even with his eyes open.
~
Loves to turn the stereo up (really loud) and dance.
~
It is such a blessing and joy to watch this little baby boy that I could hold in my arms over a year ago growing into an one day independent little boy.

Oh Baby, we cant wait....

...to meet "You" later this year. That's right, we are EXPECTING!!!! Although today has officially put me in the full excitement mode, it is still so surreal and I cant believe that we are having another baby.
Introducing Baby Gibson #2
We are 12 weeks due January 3rd but if I have it my way and more importantly the baby is OK, I hope to induce at the end of December. I guess we can say we will be on pins and needles come Christmas time!!!

I tried to keep it quiet for the most part but it has been truly hard. Being patient is something that I am not good at. We have made it to this point and everything is good, so now I am smiling from ear to ear. But now, we have to be even more patient in waiting to find out if it will be a Boy or a Girl? EIGHT LONG WEEKS UNTIL, oh man, is it going to be hard. I might have to do a little begging at my 16 week check-up to see if they will do an ultrasound to see. If not, I will just have to wait until August.

Here is a little breakdown up to 12 weeks.....

1- April 26th - Day 1 late (attempt to wait 2 weeks if still late)

2-May 6th - Day 11 late (couldn't wait anymore) "POSITIVE", took 3 tests!

3-May 10th - 6 weeks and the sickness has begun. Nauseated on and off all day long (keep telling myself it is worth it, it is worth it...

4-May 31st - 9 weeks, starting to feel better, still very tired. There is a POOCH sticking out and clothes are tight. Bring out the belly band!!!

5- June 7th - 10 weeks, sickness is gone and still constantly tired. Battling some headaches. AND will not be able to hide much longer. Regular clothes are not fitting.

6-June 22nd - 12 weeks, Definitely Pregnant and showing, gained 8 lbs and maternity clothes are needed. Got to see our precious little one for the first time. Baby is growing and measuring correctly and the heartbeat was at 162 (which I was told was good!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
But we are thrilled and excited about Baby No. 2 which will complete our little family! I think we even have the names picked out just need to know what it is going to be....... Enjoy a few more pictures of our little munchkin (name called by the ultrasound tech)
Celebration Poolside!
What was a very hot day became the perfect day to be in the water which is where you would have found ALL the Gibsons on Saturday. To celebrate Father's Day and an early Birthday celebration for Uncle Clint and yours truly, we all gathered together for some fun time in the pool and wonderful seafood meal prepared by GG.
We had a great time just relaxing, watching Cohen play and try his swimmies for the first time and some of us, well just ME, try to get some much needed sun. Even my almost two year old has a better tan than I do.
The sun, water and seafood really put us in the mood for the beach which we leave in T-minus five days!!!!!
Tractor Photo shoot!
What is it about those tractors that boys like? Something us gals will never understand I guess. But I know one thing, my little man loves'em. Last week, a crew was working at my in-loves' neighbor's property line and when we pulled up that morning, we saw the "Tractor". This so-called tractor automatically had Cohen's attention. After work, I arrived to have dinner at my in-loves and noticed the crew was gone but not the tractor. GG informed me that the day pretty much consisted with checking out and watching this tractor, although Cohen wasn't too big on the loud noise this tractor made. So after dinner, GG had a great idea of taking Cohen's picture with it.
Cohen wanted Daddy to join in the photo shoot fun!
Like Father, Like Son!
A Great Time with Great Friends!
This past Saturday, we headed over to The Blanton's lovely home to enjoy some terrific food and a good time with some of my girls and their families. Lindsay prepared a yummy mexican fiesta with key lime pie for dessert. We had a great time hanging out, chatting with one another and playing with the kids. Thank you Linds and Freddie for having us over and we look forward to more of these get togethers in the future (of course, we will not allow you to do all the cooking - lol)!!!!
Empty Room
The "Big Boy Room" is officially cleaned out and ready to begin. Since we were getting the carpet cleaned this past Saturday, I decided last week to order the bed. However, of course I would be told that the bed is on back order. It's not that I am in a big rush to need it or anything but it does hold up from deciding where other things need to be placed. Good news is that the bed should be in sometime in July.
Until then, we are moving forward with adding a ceiling fan and a ClosetMaid Organizer Kit. I would loved to have installed one of those really nice closet kits with drawers, etc. but found that it was really expensive. We really needed something besides a single shelf. Something that would offer different lengths for hanging and places for some cute totes for storage but most importantly, a reasonable price.
An idea that I had found and thought would be neat is painting a small section on one of the walls with chalkboard paint trimmed with some simple chair rail moulding. Later on down the road, add some cork board so that Cohen can display some of his art work from school. I am just hoping that it turns out like I envisioned it to be.
I will admit that I am little nervous about the completion of this room. More so because I have already invested and purchased items over the past year which have been stored. Items that can not be returned. And now that I get to pull them out and start placing in the room, I am worried that it will not look good. I am trying not to overdo it and crowd the room with too much stuff so hopefully when all is said and done, it turns out a cute room and a room that Cohen will grow to ENJOY!
My Pool Boys
The pool is officially open at the Gibson household. And I have a good feeling this is where you will find my two boys every week day and weekend that is allowed.
The word "Pool" was mentioned to Cohen when I went to pick him up on Monday and he was excited. He talked about it all the way home and when we arrived, straight to the door he went hollering for daddy. Daddy was already enjoying the water so Mommy had to hurry and get little man ready to join.
Cohen loves the water and apparently is not scared to jump in. The boy gave us a little scare a few times so we thought we better purchase a life jacket.
Although we have to deal with a little fussiness to get Cohen out of the pool, I am very glad that he is not afraid of the water and seeing the smiles while the boys play is PRICELESS!!!
My Lack of Blogging
It has been 10 days since I have posted anything and I really don't have any excuses, I just haven't had much to blog about. Since I am not a creative writer like all the "Great Bloggers" that I follow, it is hard for me to just sit down and type away. I need to have something to really blog about and it appears that not much has been going on.
Last week, Cohen went to stay with Grandma and Papa for a few days, which I may add this took place two weeks in a row. He was gone for 3 days at a time and it was a nice break. I had all these plans to be able to get some things done and let's just say, that DID NOT happen. It appears that the so-called Lazy Bug got a hold of me and would not let me go. Very disappointed with myself but the break was nice! As hard as it use to be, I am very glad that I can now allow myself to let Cohen go away for a few days or even just one night. Every Mommy and Daddy needs a break!
One thing that we are still getting use to is the fact that our Bogey is gone. We officially said good-bye to him last Monday night. It really was a hard decision to make and I truly wish we had other options but we think it is for the best. We have received good reports from the new family and hearing that Bogey is doing really well.
Last weekend, Charlie and I, along with my mom, participated in the Community Yard Sale in our neighborhood. From the change of some decor in the house and clearing out the guest bedroom, we had plenty of things to sell. We were a little nervous that it wouldn't go over that well and probably wouldn't make much but we were wrong. We made $274.50!!! And boy, was I excited! Deciding to do the sale along with the neighborhood was a great idea. We had crowds of people and we didn't have to advertise which was nice.
Later that day, Cohen attended a 1st birthday party for a sweet little boy, Lucas. I wasn't feeling that good so Charlie, along with GG and Pops, took him and he seemed to have a great time!
It still amazes me each time a new month arrives. And I cant believe June is here. Sometimes I feel like it was just February. I am excited that June has arrived even if my white self still has not acquired a tan yet. We have just a little over 3 weeks until the Beach trip and I am so ready for it! Although I wish it was time to pack our bags and go, I know once it arrives, it will fly by too!
I hope June is starting off wonderfully for everyone and just maybe this month, I will have some things to start blogging about!!!! :-)
