Putting on the pounds!

Our Ladybug is TWO months old and growing so fast. Today, she went in for her check up and I just couldn't wait to see how much she weighed. I knew just by the adorable baby rolls she has added to her tiny body that there was definitely some pounds gained. She weighed 10 lbs, 12.8 oz and measured at 23.5 inches long. A little over 4 lbs and 4.5 inches in 2 months!

There is no doubt that Ladybug has a very good appetite. She LOVES to eat and currently going through a growth spurt. She is eating between 3 to 4 ozs every 3 hours which I think sometimes it isnt enough for her. And she makes it known that she isn't too happy that there isn't more.

And Sleeping! Oh how I wished I had been stronger when Cohen was a baby. Tomorrow will be 3 weeks since Ladybug has moved to her crib and it has been wonderful. I highly recommend self soothing your baby as early as you can. The longest she cried was about a hour and half, which it was on and off and not the whole time. Now, she might cry out but not for too long and will go right to sleep. There are the occasions where she wakes up but she then goes back to sleep on her own. During the day, we have been placing her in the bouncer or swing for the sleeping. But as of today, she is starting to take her naps in the crib. And I might add that when I went to lay her down this afternoon, she just looked up at me and I never heard a word. Fell right to sleep!!!

Ladybug loves for you to talk to her. She smiles every time! She is starting to enjoy being held and looking over your shoulder and she prefers to skip the tummy time. Overall, Ladybug is such a good baby! I love to watch her reaction to her da-da and big brother and just know that she will adore them both!
Something that I meant to start with her is taking a picture beside her first pink teddy bear but apparently I forgot when she turned a month old. So here is one from the day we left the hospital. It is funny to look back and see how big her beanie hat and clothes were on her and I thought will she ever fit in them. Well her hat will not cover her ears and she is starting to fill her clothes!
Love our happy two month Ladybug!!!

Getting too close for my liking...

Today marks FIVE WEEKS before I have to return back to work. I am NOT looking forward to that day but just like when I survived when I had to leave Cohen, I will this time too.
~
I have a lot of things I would like to accomplish before that day arrives. For starters, to get in shape. I keep procrastinating on that one. Second is to continue getting our house more organized. Third is filling my recipe book. Since I am not a huge fan of cooking, I thought if I gathered some easy preparations, that I might start enjoying it. Now my list could go on and on but just hopefully I will accomplish some if not all...
~
A lot has been going on at the Gibson household. We are experiencing something that we wish would never had happened. Charlie is officially unemployed. Two weeks ago, the company closed the branch. We might face some hard times, but I know and trust God that it will all be alright. We believe He will place Charlie where he needs to be in His time. So we are very thankful for the job I will be returning to soon. Please keep us in your prayers during this stressful time.
~
Something I know that will give me huge support during hard times is the wonderful ladies in the Women's Community Bible Group I recently joined. This bible study was put together by a loving friend of mine and is filled with ladies from different churches. We are studying the "Fingerprints of God" by Jennifer Rothschild. I am looking forward to seeing great things come out of this study and building relationships with these ladies.
~
Of course as the time decreases on going back to work, this also means that our Ladybug is getting older. Days away from hitting the 2 month mark. So hard to believe. Our Ladybug has officially moved to her crib and learning to self soothe. I will tell more in a later post but she has been such a good baby.
~
Today, Cohen is half way to turning the Big Three. And we are hoping the 3's will turn out to be better than the 2's. Cohen is such a good little boy but....with all the changes like bringing home baby sister, having mommie home all day and now daddie home too, he sure has been very testy with some bad attitudes. We attempted the potty training but not going so well. Some days he seems excited but mostly he just doesn't want to try. We will see how that turns out.
~
So as the next five weeks fly by, I am going to enjoy them as much as I can. To not stress over the things I can not change but be blessed to have this time with hubby and kids!!!

At Six weeks ~

Ladybug has ventured off for the first time to stay the night at GG and Pops!
~~~
I wondered how long I would be able to allow myself for this and I have to say, it is definitely easier the second time. With Cohen, he was a little over two months before I left him for just a few hours and then he was three months before I let him spend just one night away with Grandma.
When Grandma asked to get Cohen for a few days, I thought to myself that it would be nice to have a night to ourselves and one to actually sleep through. So my wonderful Mother-in-love was willing to take on the baby responsibilities for the night.
I have gotten use to Cohen's little getaways but it has been weird not having her here. I feel like I need to fix a bottle or change a diaper. It has been very quiet and though I miss her, I have also enjoyed "my" time. And definitely looking forward to sleeping through the night and may even take my time getting out the bed in the morning!
Our precious Ladybug is growing so fast! It is so hard to believe she is a few weeks away from being two months old. She has been sleeping in mommie and da-da's room and we are getting ready to move to the crib. It is going to be hard because I am sure there will be plenty of tears. But I have to be strong and get her use to self-soothing herself to sleep. Something we didn't do with Cohen and to this day, still have issues with him.
~
She is eating and sleeping good. Her routine is around every 3 to 4 hours. Last night, she fell asleep around 7 o'clock and normally would have woke up around 10 or 11. But when I decided to wait for her, I would be surprised at the time when she finally did wake up. It was 3:30 am, Eight and half hours later...I couldn't believe. After eating, she was out an hour later. Maybe it was a fluke or just maybe she is starting something that I would love to happen every night.
LOVE THAT SMILE!
And looking forward to seeing IT tomorrow but until then I am enjoying tonight!
Absolutely Hopeless
is what I think about my obsession to the "Twilight Saga". I could also add to my pathetic self that it has been a good obsession. I started reading this series back in early December! Since then, I have watched the movie several times, re-read the first three books and went to the theaters to see "New Moon" (the 2nd book for those who don't know). Now I am impatiently waiting on that DVD to be released which is in 37 days and the third movie, "Eclipse", to make its debut in the theaters June 30th. I cant even think about how long I will have to wait for the final movie to come out because that will be sometime in 2011.
~
If you are a Twil-Fan, then you possibly can relate to this obsession. And if you are not, well then you can just think that I am crazy (my husband does)...
~
I just cant get enough of it. Sad I know, but I cant. Not only do I think about it way too much, but I get excited when I hear someone talking about it and want to join in. One of my girlfriends that I dragged in to this crazy thing and I chat about it almost everyday. We have loved finding information online on everything from movies to the actual actors. I have thought about trying to get into another book, which I did recently read "The Last Song" by Nicholas Spark (good one too) but it has no comparison to the love story of Edward and Bella!
~
So for those who haven't got caught up in this, I would want to say if you do, PREPARE yourself. I have not met or talked with one person who hasn't felt the same way as I do. It is a great story and truly a "GREAT" read! I could only hope that the author will go on to write a fifth book...
~
For you Twil-fans!
Something that was passed along from a few of my friends is the the author, Stephanie Meyer, has written a non-finished draft from Edward's perspective called Midnight Sun. Absolutely love it and hopefully she will finish it for us crazed fans! Check it out.
And, the movie trailer for "Eclipse" is being released this weekend. What a teaser that will be but I cant wait to see. This one was my favorite book so I am curious to see how the movie turns out...
I would LOVE to know your thoughts if you have read any of these! Please do share!
