Believeeeeee!

Please pause music player before watching video.

GG and Pops have a moose that sings "Grandma got run over by a reindeer" and Cohen loves it, along with "Parker Penguin" that sings too. I apologize for the clarity of the video, I forgot to turn on the light and of course, I thought about video taping after he had already done it several times and when I wanted to try to get a better one, he was done with it. Go figure. But the singing was too cute not to share even if he is only saying believeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Here he is sitting with Moose and Parker, which he carried around a good while last night. Please ignore the dirtiness of this little boy, hard to keep a 15 month clean at all times.

He's adored by many!

Of course a mom is going to say their child is any of the greatest things you can come up with such as; cutest kid ever, smart cookie, most lovable and adorable one and so on, you get the picture. But when other people acknowledge your child in many different ways and show large amounts of love, it just touches your heart. Cohen has his moments but for the most part, he is such a lovable kid and I hope that it stays with him as he gets older. This week, Cohen received a Christmas gift from one of the sweetest couples and a great pleasure of getting to know since I have joined the Gibson family. Marshall and Joann Hughes, who are friends and attend Church with my in-loves, gave him a teddy bear. Cohen loves his stuffed animals so we give each one a name that will remind him of where that one came from. This week we welcomed "MJ" to the bunch. I want to thank Marshall and Joann for being so caring and loving towards Cohen. Merry Christmas to you both!

No sitting on Santa's Lap....

...but there is always next year. This past Friday, while Cohen was visiting with them, Grandma and Grandpa were doing a little shopping at the mall. I asked if they would just see how Cohen would react to Mr. Santa in hopes we might could get a picture with him this year. If it worked out, to go ahead and get a picture. After trying to convince and even bribing with some cookies, Cohen wasn't having it. However, while sitting on her knee, he did allow for Grandma to get close and enjoy a good book with Santa. Cohen loves to read and the picture turned out perfect.
*Santa always comes to visit LTAT (my law firm) so we will see if he makes it on the lap then.

No Bug yet.

So there seems to be something going around and this past weekend, we managed to see three people that had something, and Thank You Lord, we haven't caught it.
~For starters, it was time for a date night with the hubby. We made plans for Cohen to go stay with Grandma for a few days. And it worked out because GG caught a bug and was sick on Thursday which was the day Grandma picked him up. Charlie and I had a quiet night doing what we love to do. Charlie played the PS3 and I took a double dose of Patrick Dempsey and watched "Made of Honor" (cute movie by the way) and of course, would not miss Grey's Anatomy.
~~Now, let me stop there for a minute because I want to say "HUH?" on the Izzie and Denny situation. I am a huge Grey's fan and love the show even if some of the things on there do not mesh with my morals and beliefs but I don't miss it and if I have to, well I TiVo it. So my question is, where are they going with this? Are they having Izzie going crazy or something? I just hope that they don't start going weird on the show.
~~~Anyway, going into Friday, well after GG had something then Pops took on a bug as well. I was really looking forward to having a "date night". Our date night usually consists of going to pick up something to eat, bring it back to the house and enjoy some movies. Every now and then, we might go out to eat but we are home bodies and enjoy the time resting on the couch. Tonight, we got Joy of Tokyo and boy it was delicious and watched a couple movies. The food was so good, I was craving it the next night as well but no, couldn't talk Charlie into that one.
~~~~After enjoying a great night with the hubby, I was looking forward to sleeping in a little on Saturday. However, I received a 6:35 am call from Grandma letting me know that she was sick and needed to come get Cohen. I felt so bad for her, because I haven't really experienced a major sickness since Cohen has been in our lives but I can tell you that when I have felt bad, it is hard to take care of a little one especially a 15 month old boy. Don't see how the moms do it when they don't have the luxury of mother-in-love right down the street to come to their rescue. So again, Cohen and myself (in the quick few minutes I had an encounter with mom) have missed the bug.
~~~~~Overall, we had a great weekend and I pray that we will continue to miss that bug.....
Light of My Life
Last night, as I drove down our street, around the corner, a smile just came on my face as I could see the lights on our house. We were planning on getting them up this week but my sweet dear husband wanted to surprise me and have them up before I got home from dinner. I was so excited! I have never had lights on the house before and was really looking forward to it this year. The only thing missing is, I would have loved to have had a picture of him on the roof. Cohen was staying with his GG and Pops last night, so I can not wait for him to see the house tonight.
So thanks to my hubby, once again you have proven another reason why you are the Light of my life and the sweetest hubby ever. Sigh!
The Conversation Changes....
From left to right: me, Lauree, Shea and Bridget
Last night was the second Girls Dinner and Chat get together and although there ended up being only four of us, we had such a great time. Knowing the schedules have changed from when we were just girls in high school to working (I am including all the stay-at-home moms too, that is for sure a job) and taking care of our growing families, we laughed last night at how our conversations have changed as well. I guess when you become a mommy, babies and kids seem to be a poplar topic especially with the ones you haven't seen in years. Getting to hear the pregnancy and delivery stories and what their baby or child is like. And of course, nothing like talking about all the old memories we have with one another. I am little behind these girls in the number of kids category. Lauree who has three boys, the oldest about to turn 3 and 4 month old twins. Shea has 6 year old girl, 4 year old boy and a 2 1/2 year old girl. Bridget has a 8 year old boy and soon to be 3 year old girl. All of them are just adorable. And they say they are DONE. I can't imagine how it will be like with another one, although I cant wait, but let along twins.
We had a really great time and look forward the next get together in January. Thanks girls for coming and sharing all the stories and mommy advice. It was another blast from the past.....
